End paper design for the book (Above)
Sophie Swashbuckle is my final project from my MA at Falmouth University. The book follows Sophie telling the tales of how she collected some of her collections she has made on her pirate adventure. The book heavily informed from how children read pictures and how picture books help improve vocabulary and visual literacy skills. The objects have been selected to encourage the children to make up there own stories and artwork on how they think these extraordinary objects came into the collection.
Front/Back Cover Design
Some spreads from the book
Copyright/Title Page
I mocked up this copyright page using details of a publisher who use recycled materials printing books, this was an important part of the project due to the nature of the book.
More spread layouts from the book. Trying to use a variety of spread layouts, from using vignettes to full bleed illustrations.
